Kundalini Yoga was first brought to the west by Yogi Bhajan in 1969. It is a quantum science of the mind-body and soul. Using angular postures, breath and sound current (via mantra,) Kundalini Yoga affects the glandular system directly and efficiently. The blood chemistry and brain chemistry become balanced. The body’s natural chemical energy (hormones) generates the body’s electro-magnetic energy. The brain’s neurons increase their speed and voltage. The chakras (energy centers in the body) balance and expand, so the whole thing, called the aura, expands and you become greater and more aware. When this occurs, the human being is bright and radiant. Side effects include happiness, good relationships and peace of mind. Caution: these side effects are contagious.
“What is Kundalini Yoga? Uncoiling the reserve power unto Infinity itself. It is a simple thing. Energy is there, you are there. It is just for you to get it, and give it. Distribute it. Give it gladly, give it courageously, give it purely. You can never get hurt. And you shall never be poor.” –Yogi Bhajan
Kundalini Yoga also works to strengthen and balance the nervous system. Nerve strength allows the body to hold and use more energy. With regular practice, you uncoil yourself, you expand and experience more of the soul’s infinite energy and awareness. Kundalini Yoga creates an expanded feeling of radiance and well-being using the body’s natural processes. In this relaxed state, the mind clears and over time a pattern develops. Regular practice creates clarity in the mind and the habit of feeling good and enjoying life.
